Losing Weight and Math

What does math have to do with losing weight? To lose weight your body must burn more calories than you consume. The average person needs to consume 2000 calories a day to maintain their current weight. In order to lose weight that number needs to be around 1500 calories. Anything less than that your body will think it is starving and will work against you. Your body will do everything possible to store fat.

So what does all this mean? If you want to lose weight you can either eat about 500 calories less a day, exercise more to burn more calories, or a combination of both.
To find out how many calories you are eating? You can use the nutrition labels on foods to help figure that out-make sure to pay attention to serving sizes and how many servings per container. If you drink a 14 ounce bottle of orange juice you are actually drinking 2 servings which equals around 220 calories. For help with foods that are not prepackaged, and hopefully you are consuming plenty of these if you want to lose weight, here is an online calorie counter website: www.calorie-count.com

Wouldn't it be nice to know which foods are more filling with less calories? Strip That Fat does just that. It educates you on what foods are more filling. It also goes into a lot more detail on how to use the math behind losing weight to your advantage.
